My experience obviously did not bode well for this new subscription based Studio, so I thought I would wait and see what others say before trying it myself. Its feature rich and growing, the curation and discovery aspects are light years ahead of what Audirvana or anyone else will be able to offer in the space. Easier to use, better sound, richer content. Its bass is tighter and deeper, the mid is open and natural and the treble is transparent and extended. I tried both and couldn’t tell the difference so I end up using Audirvana because the features are a better match to my needs. In terms of sound quality, Audirvana Studio is the winner. Many claim that one sound better than the other and mostly that Audirvana has a better performance. I made a genuine and earnest effort to solve these issues on their forum, but after trying many suggestions they had no working solutions, and maybe not so interested since they were preparing this Studio version. Software for playback is becoming an essential part of the audio chain. Damien knows what his business as a coder and hes got a good ear. In addition, and this is probably not insignificant for some, Audirvana Origin allows multiple installations, thus the use on different systems. Oh, and my opinion, Audirvana sweetening is successful for most music. The price is listed at 119.99, with the vendor promising no library limit, at least two years of OS compatibility updates and at least one feature update per year until 2025. ![]() What exactly does that add though Surely bit-perfect is as good as it gets, the ones and zeros delivered to your DAC entirely unadulterated. But the last version of Audirvana Plus was a mess, I had static, songs skipping or stopping before the end, all kinds of weird stuff that never happened with prior versions. He could test Audirvana against foobar (which I also successfully tested on OS X for identical bit-perfect playback though the OS X foobar is a limited feature beta version). Well actually Audirvana does a lot more than just bit perfect playback. I used older versions of Audirvana for years, and it usually worked well for me.
